Elsa's on the Park

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Located in the square that includes St. John’s Cathedral in downtown Milwaukee, Elsa’s is a popular gathering place for attendees of the Cathedral Park Jazz Fest, held every Thursday throughout the summer.

With that clientele, the trendy bar and restaurant needed an out-of-the-ordinary background music system, and so they asked Lewis Sound & Video to design it.

Lewis designed and installed:

  • A distributed audio system with JBL full-range loudspeakers and subwoofers mounted in the ceiling.
  • Peavey XFrame DSP
  • QSC amplifiers.
  • Three control panels: one for volume presets and source selection (satellite, CD, etc.); two for local volume control.
  • Volume presets set up for changing conditions in the bar (various size crowds, lunch and dinner ambiance, etc.). Each preset includes appropriate equalization adjustments.
  • Separately adjustable volumes for the bar, dining areas and restrooms. Sound to dining areas and restrooms is delayed so that it stays in sync with the louder-playing bar area.
