Weidner Center for the Performing Arts

University of Wisconsin Green Bay

The Weidner Center is a 2000-seat cultural and educational center offering the Green Bay community everything from broadway musicals to pop acts and orchestral performances. Its sound systems have been proven by over ten years of demanding, continuous use.

Lewis Sound provided all audio components, value-added engineering, installation and ongoing service.

This is a distributed theatrical sound system that includes

  • The main speaker system with left, center and right clusters
  • A distributed orchestra shell speaker network
  • A rear speaker cluster that carries sound to the upper balcony
  • Multiple zones of under-balcony loudspeakers
  • A flexible FX system for audio effects and onstage monitoring
  • The networked digital signal processor
  • Dual 44-channel mixing consoles

Auxiliary systems include

  • Multi-channel intercom
  • Multi-zone lobby paging and background music
  • Back-of-house program, paging and intercom systems (for dressing room, production and administration areas)
  • CCTV video system for remote visual monitoring throughout the production areas
